Honkai Impact 3rd, the popular 3D RPG by Chinese developer HoYoverse, will be releasing its biggest update yet, titled Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2, on February 29, 2024. HI3 Part 2 will let players embark on an all-new adventure on the planet Mars and introduce them to a new set of characters as they fight for all that is beautiful in the world.
What’s New in Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2?
During the Part 2 launch special program, HoYoverse co-founder Liu Wei, also known as Dawei, introduced the new updates and features of the sequel. In Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2, players will encounter three new characters: Senadina, the lively and uplifting girl with striking red hair; Helia, the skilled warrior and reliable partner; and Coralie, the petite girl with a giant hammer as her weapon.
Players will explore different areas on Mars, such as Oxia City and Langqiu. Oxia City is a modern hub with game arcades and shopping centers, where players can enjoy various activities and interact with the locals. Langqiu is a contrast to Oxia City, with its steampunk-inspired architecture and unique aesthetic.
Enhanced Combat Experience
In the upcoming Part 2 of Honkai Impact 3rd, combat remains and will always remain the central focus. The combat system undergoes a thorough optimization, with more characters able to fight in the air. Aerial combat gains prominence in Part 2, with an expanded roster of characters capable of engaging in airborne battles. Among the new characters, Senadina specializes in aerial combat, executing intricate aerial combos. She adopts a unique and lighthearted fighting style, wielding a yoyo as her weapon of choice.
The Astral Ring System is a new addition to the combat system, accumulating energy during fights. Once charged, characters enter a temporary state where they can use burst skills simultaneously, achieving massive damage.
The new monsters also exhibit heightened intelligence, engaging in activities during their downtime and showcasing a wider array of skills during battles, necessitating players to employ more adaptable combat tactics. They will also rest or entertain themselves in their free time.
Cross-Save and Gacha Systems
Honkai Impact 3rd will continue to support PC and mobile cross-save in Part 2, available on Steam and the Epic Games Store for PC, with plans for release on the Mac App Store soon, extending its immersive gameplay to a broader audience worldwide.
The game will also be introducing changes to its gacha system, making it more user-friendly and rewarding. Players will have more chances to obtain their desired characters and equipment and enjoy more benefits from the events and rewards.
A Dreamseeking Voyage Bound for Mars
Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2 will mark a new step for the franchise, marching from the earth and moon to the solar system, where players will embark on the electrifying adventure together with new partners from different cultures while playing as a team supporter named ‘Dreamseeker.
Dreamseeker is a mysterious character who can manipulate dreams and memories. He will guide the players through the new world of Mars, where they will uncover secrets and mysteries that have yet to be discovered.
Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2 will start a new, allowing newcomers and fans alike to dive into the new adventure, leaving the previous protagonist, Kiana, behind. The new chapter will comprehensively integrate new scenes, narrations, and combat systems and indulge players in a smoother and more immersive gaming experience.
